Collaboration with Shelby of Lucky Day Blog Day 1: Summer Uniform

The very lovely Shelby who blogs over at Lucky Day Blog and I have collaborated this week to bring you 3 different looks! Today we are both wearing what we wear for a majority of summer, which is a button down shirt and chino shorts! Usually paired with a statement necklace and Jack Rogers sandals. We both have many options of each so it's just so easy to make so many combinations of them! So Wednesday, and because of the fourth of July being Friday, next Monday we will be styling similar items on the same days :)

Shirt: Madewell (old), Shorts: J. Crew, Belt: J. Crew (old), Necklace: Cara New York (similar), Bracelet: Alex and Ani, Shoes: Jack Rogers

Don't forget to check out Shelby's look!

Walking the Dogs

My boyfriend and I walked my dogs today after I got home from ballet. I walked Gracie who is a Weimaraner. And my boyfriend walked Cowboy, the Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix. I'm wearing some J. Crew sale finds that thanks to the extra 50% off sale and items and student IDs, the sweatshirt was $14 and the hat was only $4! We took the pictures after the walk, so they were very tired!

Sweatshirt: J. Crew, Hat: J. Crew, Shorts: J. Crew (old color), Shoes: Sperry Top Sider, Necklace: Initial Reaction (bought from local Lilly store)

White on White

Now that Memorial Day has passed, I've pulled out all of my white clothes for the summer. I've never really paired white on white before, but I thought why not with bright colored accessories! Mostly because without the accessories I would look like I'm about to hit the tennis courts...anyways this is one of my favorite necklaces that I've had since last summer and I just love how it matches so many different colors!

Shirt: Ralph Lauren, Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer, Belt: Lilly Pulitzer, Necklace: Groopdealz, Sunglasses: Old Navy (can't find them online), Bracelets: J. Crew Factory, Alex and Ani, Shoes: Jack Rogers

Ballet Inspiration

As most of my readers know, I have been training in ballet since I was 3 years old. I entered college as a dance major, but have since dropped to a dance minor after a back injury (that is now healed) and just a realization that ballet was not the best career choice for me, despite how much I have loved it my whole life. But ever since I was 10 years old when I first saw George Balanchine's ballet "Serenade" I knew that I had to be in that ballet before I stopped dancing. This week I started rehearsals for this ballet. It has been so incredibly exhausting because my days have started with a ballet class at 9 am, a pointe class after that and four hours of rehearsal, every day until 5. I've never been so sore and tired but I think it will be all worth it when I get to perform. Here are just some photos of the ballet performed by major ballet companies for my own inspiration, and so my readers know what I'm up to for the next few weeks!

Tortoise and Blue

This weekend called for lots of light blue and tortoise! I spent Saturday shopping with my mom for Father's Day, with a few stops in our favorites stores of course. And Sunday was a family day, we spent a majority of in our backyard! Today is the first day I am technically working for the ballet studio I trained at from Kindergarten until I graduated high school. For the next two and half weeks I will be taking dance classes and rehearsing to perform George Balanchine's Serenade for 8 hours every week day and half days on Saturdays!
