It's time to share a few of the everyday outfits I wore during August! Like last month, this post has a few outfits you may see on the blog soon, but with different accessories and shoes. And in case you missed them, here are my everyday outfits from June and July!
If you have read any of my recent posts, you probably know that the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale started yesterday. And because it lasts until Wednesday, they added some more styles last night! So here is a roundup of some of my picks, including the new styles recently added. I ended up getting this Mila Shift dress and this Delphine Tunic dress, both for some great deals! Just click the images to shop my picks!
Who would have thought that a jumpsuit made for children would make me feel tall? If you follow any other blogger with a style similar to mine, you may know that the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale started today! And from what I saw in-store yesterday, this jumpsuit and a very similar adult size maxi dress (in the same print) is part of it! If you missed yesterday's posts, here are my tips and tricks on how to best shop the sale. I ended up shopping in-store yesterday and found my favorite style of shift dress (this one) for $100 off the original price!
I apologize for the overload of photos, I just really love this jumpsuit. I have always looked around in the children's section at Lilly Pulitzer, but I usually think some styles really look like they were made for children. Or all of the other short girls had the same idea, and the XLs sell out of the styles that could pass as an adult style. However, I got lucky with this jumpsuit! This print has been one of my favorites this year, I just love the bright color combination. And it is also one of the most comfortable things I own. I wore it when I was at the beach with my family about a month ago, and it's just so much fun to wear!
Don't forget to shop the After Party Sale if you haven't already! If you shopped earlier today or in-store yesterday, let me know what you ended up getting!
It's the best time of the year, theLilly PulitzerAfter Party Sale starts tomorrow! And for the first time ever, there is a preview sale today in stores! The Lilly Pulitzer online store does not have a sale section year round, so they host two online sales every year. From my experience shopping these sales for the last five years, they are typically held on the last Monday of August, and the first Monday of January. This sale is both online and in Lilly Pulitzer corporate stores. The sales last for 3 days, but the best items are typically sold out within the first few hours! Although, they have added items as the sale goes on in past years.
These sales are how I have purchased a majority of my Lilly items. Most of the items currently listed on their website (including agendas) will not be included in the sale. They pull styles and prints from the last year or so for these sales. But because Lilly does a lot of the same styles in different prints and colors each season, it's a great way to find some of your favorite pieces in past prints for great prices.
So to be best prepared to shop at 8am tomorrow, here are some of my tips from shopping these sales.
The Sale FAQ page from Lilly answers most of your typical questions you may have about the sale. But here are a few things I would add to it:
1. Create an account if you do not have one already, and make sure you are signed in the night before. It is also good to have your shipping addresses and payment information saved, to save time while all of your favorite items are going so quickly! If you shop on multiple devices (which I recommend), make sure you are signed in on each one, including the mobile app.
2. Know your sizes, all items are final sale. If you haven't bought anything from Lilly over the last few years, I have noticed some of the sizing is not as consistent as it used to be.
3. There are always disclaimers about the shipping and processing is supposed to take several weeks. But from my experience, I usually have my items within a week or so.
4. You will be placed in a virtual line to enter the sale, which they have only been doing for the last few sales. It used to be a good practice to place multiple orders to keep things from getting pulled out of your cart because the shipping is free. However, this is no longer a good idea. Because you will be placed back in line after your first order has been submitted.
And I have learned that using multiple devices is really helpful for the line. It also makes the line seem much longer than it really is, if most people in line are on 2 or more devices. But I have always found that one device gets far ahead of the others. The website used to crash due to the overwhelming traffic, but with the exception of last January's sale, I think this line has improved that.
5. In the last few sales, everything has been under $100 or very close to it. Which is a pretty good deal on most items, however they used to be much more discounted. From my experience, I have noticed the best deals are on scarves, casual dresses, small accessories, tops, and skirts!
If you read at least one other blog besides mine, there is a good chance you have seen at least of these trending items. Sometimes I scroll through Instagram and it seems like I may be the only blogger that doesn't own at least one of them! But if you have had your eye an any of these items, you're in luck. Because I have found some more affordable options for several Instagram-famous pieces!
I have just a few shades of blue going in today's outfit post...I keep finding myself adding chambray pieces to my closet just for how versatile they are for color matching. I've also worn this top with dark jeans and neutral wedges, and with printed shorts and flat sandals. It's a simple top, but I just love how the peplum could make any outfit a little bit more feminine.
Here is the August edition of Finds Under $50! I'm clearly looking for some more neutral colors as I slowly start shopping for fall. These sets always end up in a color palette, but I really never intend for that to happen as I'm making them. I'm thinking some of these pieces would be great to transition to fall. I'm definitely not ready for summer to be over. But, living in Charlotte I need a lot of pieces like these. Because I know with this weather I won't actually be wearing much fall clothing until at least October. And in case you missed them, here are my finds under $50 for June and July!
