Shades of Pink

J. Crew stripe tee | Citizens of Humanity jeans | Charming Charlie earrings c/o | Jack Rogers sandals | Similar Kate Spade bag | Ray Ban sunglasses

So I bought another striped shirt that I didn't need...but it was the last one in the store and marked down to $16, how do I walk away from that?!? I have been living in striped tees with white jeans lately, it's such a simple and chic combo. I am really loving all of the lighter shades of pink here, they may be becoming my new favorite neutral!

P.S. I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend! There's is still time to shop some Memorial Day Sales I rounded up on Friday. And if you read Thursday's post you know I have been in Colorado visiting my best friend from college, follow along on Insta @cara_194!

Colorado Packing List

Stripe dress  | White jeans  | Stripe tee | Patagonia jacket  |  Fabletics leggings  | Old Navy workout top  | Ray Ban sunglasses | J. Crew flats  | Nike shorts  | Nike sneakers

I'm so excited to head to Colorado to visit my best friend from college! Hannah, who I shared a room with for most of college, has been mentioned just a few times on the blog before. We haven't seen each other since she visited me in Charlotte last October, which has been way too much time apart! She lives close to Vail so we will be doing a little hiking, and enjoying the scenery. She also shares my love for barre class, so I'll be packing more athletic gear than I usually take on a trip. And the weather seems to be pretty unpredictable out there (they got so much snow last week!). So I'll be bringing some warmer clothes as well, just in case!

Petite-Friendly White Jeans

To all of my fellow vertically challenged ladies, I am rounding up a few of my favorite pairs of white jeans! I used to get most of my jeans hemmed, but I have found a few pairs over the last year or so that did not need to be altered. For reference, I am 5'2" and I typically wear a size 24 or 25, depending on the brand.

I bought these about a year ago, in a size 24. They have also been in the following outfit posts: one, two, three, four, and five. They are pretty affordable at $59. I cuff them a little for wedges and heels, but for me they do not need to be cuffed with flats. I would say they are a mid-rise style, I typcially prefer high rise, but I love this pair. However, are not the most comfortable. They are rather tight, if you are looking for a very "skinny" jean.

As I mentioned in this recent outfit post, I just found this pair last January. They are normally a pricier pair of jeans ($178), but I found them for an amazing deal of $20 at Nordstrom Rack. I also wear a size 24 for this pair. They have a raw hem, and I only cuff them once so the hem is still visible. This pair has a slightly high rise fit, which I always look for. I think that always makes for a better fit on me, and make your legs look longer. They have a bit of a looser fit through the leg for a skinny jean, and are quite comfortable.

J. Crew- "Lookout" jeans

I only own this pair in regular denim, but they are also available in white. I have worn them in this post, this post, and this post. I found them for a very nice deal, I think they were marked down to $37 about a year and a half ago. I wear a 24 in these as well, but I cuff them a little more than other pairs of jeans I own. They are also available in petite sizes, and in a cropped version, which are sometimes the perfect length for me. These are also a high rise fit, a little higher than the Citizens of Humanity pair mentioned above. I think they are also a little more of a straight leg than a skinny jean, and are the most comfortable jeans I own!

Blue Shirtdress

I have become a little obsessed with shirtdresses over the last year or so. This one is a little different for me because it doesn't have a collar is a little looser fitting, but I really like it! It also doesn't hurt that it's this nice shade of blue! This dress is so versatile, I have already worn it with a dressier pair of wedges to go out to dinner, and with low heels to wear for work. I think I may even style it with ankle boots and a scarf when fall comes back around!

May Finds Under $50

I have actually stuck with a series of posts for almost half a year now, wow! Anyway,  you know the deal by now. Here are my monthly finds under $50. I am especially excited about this scallop top, I have been wanting to buy the J. Crew retail version for a few summers, but they never seem to have it in my local stores. And I love the variety of color options! Of course, I also included this striped tee because since I have about 5 other colors, I clearly need another one...I guess I know what I like, and I stick to it. And in case you missed it, here were my Finds Under $50 for March and April!

White Pleated Top

I have added another pleated item of clothing to my closet and I love this one! You may have remembered this navy pleated top I styled in November. As much as I love that one, I feel like I can only wear that one when I go out uptown because it is backless. This white one is a great work-friendly spring alternative. And surprise, it looks great with navy! I think I will also wear it with white jeans and wedges for a more casual look!
