Happy first day of summer, and for Lilly Pulitzer lovers, National Wear Your Lilly Day! This year, instead of getting a new dress like I have the last two summers, I'm re-styling an old favorite. I got this top from one of the online sales, that are now called the After Party Sale, back in January of 2013. I think it was a summer 2012 style. I love this top, the peplum is so fun and I love how the print is colorful, but also has a lot of navy in it. It sort of got pushed to the back of my closet, so I thought this would be a great reason to bring it back out, and finally get it on the blog. Also if you want to celebrate National Wear Your Lilly Day by buying some Lilly, they are offering gifts with purchase!
I'm also wearing a headband from Headbands of Hope. Headbands were sort of my thing in high school, I wore one just about every day. If you have been reading Caralina Style since the beginning, you know that they were one of the first companies I ever worked with on the blog, in this post. Headbands of Hope was started by NC State alumna Jessica Ekstrom, while she was still in school. During an internship with Make-A-Wish, she noticed that many of the young girls going through chemotherapy treatments really enjoyed wearing headbands after they had lost their hair. So, for every headband or hair accessory that is bought, one is given to a child with cancer. And since last year, they have donated to every children's hospital in the United States!
