Luxe for Less: Mini Totes, Lace Up Flats, and Oversized Sunglasses

I love both reading and making looks for less posts. I've recently noticed a lot of look alikes for the St. Laurent (and Celine) red mini tote bags, Jimmy Choo lace up flats, and Karen Walker Super Duper oversized round sunglasses. So here are a few look alike items for these luxury pieces.

$1990 Saint Laurent red mini tote
$450 Tory Burch red mini tote
$195 Rebecca Minkoff red mini tote
$98 Ann Taylor red mini tote (and they have 50% off everything sales quite often, so it's more like $49!)
$725 Jimmy Choo lace up flats
$295 Loeffler Randall lace up flats
$89 Steve Madden lace up flats
$30 Old Navy lace up flats
$280 Karen Walker oversized sunglasses
$160 Ray Ban oversized sunglasses

Yellow

We have been having a much warmer than usual fall lately, and I have been loving it! I've really only been wearing light jackets and vests, when the last few years I usually have my peacoats out by now. So I've wearing lots of things like this outfit here, a tee or button down with a vest, jeans, and boots. Today I'm styling them with some jewelry from the Kendra Scott Mirror Mirror collection

J. Crew Striped Suede Shoulder shirt | J. Crew Factory herringbone vest | J Brand Maria jeans | Ray Ban blue mirror aviators (rented) c/o Ditto (use code CARALINASTYLE for your first month free!) | Marc Jacobs bag (old, same color) | Banana Republic over the knee boots (old, similar here, here, and here) | Stella and Dot initial necklace | Kendra Scott Oliver necklace c/o | Kendra Scott Miriam stackable rings c/o | Kendra Scott Taylor earrings c/o

Also, I love my campus in the fall

Gal Meets Glam x Baublebar

Julia Engel, the blogger behind Gal Meets Glam has just released a beautiful collection with Baublebar! Julia has been one of my favorite bloggers ever since I discovered her blog two years ago, and Baublebar has always been one of my favorite online stores for jewelry! I know everyone has been making posts about this collection, but I just love some of these pieces too much to not share any of my favorites!

6- Pink Agate Bookends (so pretty but I really have no use for myself because I don't really read books that aren't for school...)
8- Block Acrylic Monogram Coaster Set

Game Day: According to My iPhone

I went home to NC for fall break last week and I spent the weekend in Clemson for a football game. I also went to their games last year for fall break and Thanksgiving. I've said this a few times on here before, but I clearly don't go to Clemson. But my boyfriend and brother both do, and my dad and 3 of my cousins have gone there. I've grown up cheering for the Tigers, and games in Death Valley are always so fun! Every game I've gone to in the last year they have won, they are currently undefeated!
So here are some of the photos I took throughout the day:
The balloons are always my favorite part. It was also the first night game I've been to, so I loved the fireworks that went off every time they scored too!
Matching Kendra Scott pendants with Mom!
With my brother at the tailgate. I know I've said this before but the height difference is deceiving, I'm 3 years older!
At Tiger Town Tavern, my dad's favorite spot from his college days, with my boyfriend
I actually got this photo off of the Clemson Yik Yak. Which is anonymous so I don't really have a photo credit...But. everyone turned on their phone lights towards the middle of the game. No one was prompted to, but just about the whole stadium (of about 80,000 people) lit their phones up, it was so cool!
And I was wearing: Entro bell sleeve dress | Kendra Scott Rayne pendant | Stella and Dot initial necklace c/o | Ray Ban mirror aviators (rented) c/o Ditto (use code "CARALINASTYLE" for your first month free!)
Also I really apologize for the lack of posting lately, my mid terms have been spread out over two weeks and I have been writing a grant for my internship, but I hope to be fixing that soon!

Insta Lately

I'm spending the day traveling for fall break, so here's another Insta lately! I'm so excited to have this little break from mid terms, only 2 left! Follow along if you aren't already, @cara_194!

I've been living in vests lately, some days have been colder and I have been wearing them all day. But we have been having the warm weather stick around a lot longer than it usually does (which is pretty fantastic if you ask me) so I've mostly only needed them in the mornings.

Monogrammed Puffer Vest

Puffer vests have been one of my favorite things to wear during the fall for the last few years. They're perfect for when it's chilly but I don't want to wear a jacket, and I also love them as extra layer of warmth under my giant coat for subzero temps in the winter! Luckily, since I'm graduating early I'll be avoiding another northern winter. But I know I will probably get a lot more wear out of my vests through the winter in NC. I wear them to class pretty often, and I am loving this neutral monogrammed one the Marley Lilly team was nice enough to send me for review!

The fleece lining of this vest is so nice and warm, which I haven't really seen in other vests. I do wish it was a little more fitted, it's kind of boxy when I zip it up. But other than that, it's pretty great! The zipper pull is a heart, which I think is too cute. It is available in several other colors and like all Marley Lilly products, you can choose just about any color and style monogram you like!

Marley Lilly quilted puffer vest c/o | J. Crew Factory striped sweater (old, similar) | J. Crew Factory necklace (old, similar) | 7 For All Mankind Roxanne jeans | Hunter gloss rain boots (adult version here, mine are the kid's size 4, see this post for more about the sizing)

Plaid, Over The Knee Boots, & Layered Necklaces

I made my second to last post about over the knee boots not knowing when I would be able to finally bring this pair out so quickly. I bought them in July from Banana Republic on super sale, when it was probably 95 degrees out. I think they were left in the store so long (and marked down so much) because they run about a half size small. I'm a 5.5 and these size 6 boots fit me perfectly. Anyway, I think I'll be wearing them a lot this fall, I didn't think they would be very comfortable, but they are! I know they will be a new favorite of mine, just like this engravable bar necklace sent to me from Stella and Dot that I'm also wearing in this post!

I'm obsessed with this Stella and Dot bar necklace. It comes in gold or silver and can be engraved with either a date, a single initial, two initials, three initials (which you can see is what I chose), or single or both initials with a heart between them! I love that it has a split chain and 2 length options, 16" with an extender, so it could also be 18". I also think it looks great layered or on it's own. And when it comes to personalized jewelry I think Stella and Dot has very reasonable prices!

C Wonder plaid sweater (no longer in business, similar) | Ralph Lauren button down shirt | J Brand Stacked jeggings | Banana Republic over the knee boots (old, similar, similar, similar) | Stella and Dot gold engravable bar necklace c/o |  Kendra Scott Addie earrings c/o (this color sold out) | Ray Ban large wayfarer sunglasses (rented) c/o Ditto (use code "CARALINASTYLE" for your first month free!) | Carrying a J. Crew Factory field jacket

Favorite Hair Products and Styling Tools

I've just started to realize that I've made several makeup posts, but I have never made a hair product or styling tools post. Which is weird to me, because I spend a lot more time on my hair! So here are all of the products and tools I use on my hair.

1. Brocato Splassh Shampoo- I have oily hair and I've used this shampoo for years. I actually found out when I was trying to link it that I don't think it is made anymore, so I guess I have to find another one...but it has served me well! Also as I said above, my hair is oily so I usually only wash my hair every other day.
2. Nexxus Split End Binding Conditioner- I've used conditioned for about a year now, I don't know if it really binds split ends like the bottle says, but I think I have had less split ends since I started using it!
3. Klorane Dry Shampoo- the best ever. I got it in my Birchbox a few months ago and I really need to buy the full size.
4. Toni & Guy Heat Protecting Mist- I usually use this before I curl my hair, and I think it helps hold the curl a little better!
5. Garnier Fructis Volumizing Hairspray- I like this because it smells good, and it has a good level of hold, it doesn't make my hair like a rock but does help hold curls.
6. Hot Tools 1.25 inch Curling Iron- this is what I use for the photos in most of my posts, it's the best! I think it's a good width, the curls are a good medium not too tight or too loose.
7. NuMe Titan 3 Curling Wand Set- I actually have an older set of 4, but the the most similar that is still sold. However I've only ever used the fourth option once, I think the makes the curls a little too tight. So I basically only use the three options in this kit. I really like it for the most part but I don't like that I can't get the very end of my hair curled with it.
8. Chi Ionic Hair Dryer- the best hair dryer I have ever used. My mom found it at TJ Maxx right before I left for college and it's still going strong! My hair takes forever to dry and this helps speed up the process.
9. Chi Flat Iron- I used to use this a lot more than I do now, but it's still pretty great. It's just your standard flat iron, but very nice quality. I've used some cheaper ones before, this one is definitely worth the price!
