Welcome back to Fitness Friday! This is my monthly roundup of workouts (although there weren't very many this month, read below for more on that...), new foods I have been eating, and some chic activewear picks! In case you missed them, here are my Fitness Friday posts from January and February!

Adult Open Ballet at Charlotte Ballet
Ballet Fit Theory at Fit Atelier
Barre at AIR

Week of 3/18-3/24
Barre at AIR
I strained an inner thigh muscle in that barre class, so I rested for a few days and tried some short arm and ab workouts in my apartment (twice)

Week of 3/25-yesterday
Another 2 short arms and abs workouts
I also tried compression therapy at Restore Hyper Wellness
And I'm going to try hot yoga at VIBE5 today as my first class back

I mentioned in yesterday's post I pulled a muscle in barre class and have been resting it for a little longer than I was expecting. It should be fine soon, and has been doing a lot better over the last day or so. But I have been trying to be very careful with it. I tried compression therapy early this week and I am really glad I tried it! I don't know if it helped my muscle, but I think it will be a great option if my achilles tendonitis from my dance days flare up again. I also had the flu at the end of February so it feels like I haven't been able to do much lately. But I'm very excited for whenever I can get back into all of my favorite classes!

Food

  1. I am still counting macros and working with nutrition coach, Noor. I actually have an upcoming post with my favorite (nutritionist approved) packaged snacks coming soon!
  2. I have made this sweet potato, shrimp, and kale skillet recipe a few times for dinner lately. I have been making it Sunday or Monday and it lasts as dinner for the next few days.
  3. I have also been loving the RX vanilla almond butter with an apple as either part of breakfast or an afternoon snack. I don't typically like almond butter very much but I love this one!

Activewear

Ellie Activewear March "First Impressions" set c/o

How fun are all of the details on this set? From the side of the leggings to the back of the top, I think these pieces are great together, but will also add a lot to some of my other activewear sets! I also have mentioned on my Insta story a few times lately that I pulled an inner thigh muscle in barre class last week. So I have been resting it for about 10 days now, but have done a few arm and ab workouts at home. I have been really missing my classes, but have been trying to use the time I would be in class to be productive in the evening, and sleep in on the days I would go to a morning class. I dealt with a few injuring during my dance days, but always had to push through a week of performances or a dance final in college before I could rest. So now I have to keep reminding myself that this is different, and I need to just let myself rest. I think the need to always be exercising also comes from my dance training, but hopefully I'll be back soon!

We had some beautiful spring weather in Charlotte this weekend and it got me so excited to start wearing dresses again and for outdoor activities coming up! But for now, when it is still significantly cooler in the mornings and evenings, you'll catch me wearing something like this look. You may know I have always been a big fan of the classic Lilly Pulitzer Elsa top (I only have 4 of them...), but instead of adding another silk popover version to my closet, I found this cotton button-down version during the last After Party Sale. I really like the lighter feel compared to the silk, and the button option adds a lot of versatility, like being able to tie the ends together and makes it easier to tuck into pants or shorts. And how fun are these druzy earrings from the Baublebar line at Target?! The color is labeled "teal" but they also look purple depending on the light and angle.

Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn Picks

Shower curtain | Hand towels | Flamingo lamp | Pineapple lamp | Palm leaves | Whale cooler | Floral pillows | Tassel beach towel | Gold pillow | Storage baskets | Leaf hooks | Gold mirror

Happy first day of spring! Have you heard the news? The Lilly Pulitzer collaboration with Pottery BarnPB Teen, and Pottery Barn Kids is back for spring! This collection first launched last year, and some of the fun and colorful pieces have been brought back. But there are also so many fun new ones! There are plenty of gorgeous furniture pieces, but most of my favorites could be added to an existing room. These pieces really make me wish I had more space in my apartment to buy some of them, but I could easily make room for a tassel beach towel, fun pillow covers, or the flamingo lamp! Which are your favorites?

Red Dress and Tassel Scarf

One of my favorite parts about spring is that I start wearing dresses more often! I wear skirts pretty often in the winter with tights or boots, but I wear dresses on most days when it is warmer. So here is a dress for the transition time, to ease into dress season! This ponte dress is so comfortable and has been perfect for work, but I think would also be great to dress down with a fun jacket and mules or sneakers. On a more beauty-related note, I have also been loving this lipstick from Becca Beauty, the "flame" shade is a great muted red that I think is perfect for the end of winter!

Navy Sweater and Loafer Mules

Navy and pink, I'm sure no one is surprised...I've been wearing this sweater non-stop lately, I bought the light pink version last year from the retail J. Crew store, but I am loving the new colors that J. Crew Factory did this year! I found it on major sale during January along with these loafer mules for under $20 each! I also recently bought my first pair of Madewell jeans and I cannot believe it has taken me this long! I sized down a little from what I usually wear and I think they are a perfect fit. Plus if you bring in an old pair of jeans (any brand), they use the denim to insulate Habitat for Humanity homes and give you a $20 off coupon on a new pair!

30 Gingham Pieces for Spring

First row: midi dress | multi-colored dress | black jumpsuit | bow-back jumpsuit | high-neck jumpsuit
Second row: puff-sleeve top | yellow top | pleated skirt | pink pants | ruffle swimsuit | gray dress
Third row: ruffle dress | green dress | pink trench | wrap dress | red dress
Fourth row: ruffle skirt | red headband | blue bag | bow headband | button-down shirt
Fifth row: blue flats | pink and green heels | black slides | red sneakers
Sixth row: beige dress | red off-the-shoulder dress | romper | navy bow top | red swimsuit

If you have read here for awhile you know I'm a big fan of gingham. If not, I've styled just a few posts featuring it, including: this short sleeve dress, these work pants, this drawstring skirt, this sundress, this flute sleeve dress, this bell sleeve top, these espadrille wedges, and this tailgate dress! Some people say it reminds them of a tablecloth, I say it's a fun and versatile print! I don't pattern mix too often, but if I do, it is usually with gingham. I have seen it everywhere for the last few seasons, and I'm so glad it is back again for spring this year.  So I thought I would round up some fun pieces to build some spring outfits this year!
