August Finds Under $50

Blue sunglasses ($15) | Blush crossbody ($19) | Lace dress ($35) | Pearl statement earrings ($38) | Tweed top ($35) | Polka top halter ($) | Suede loafers ($40)

Here is the August edition of Finds Under $50! I'm clearly looking for some more neutral colors as I slowly start shopping for fall. These sets always end up in a color palette, but I really never intend for that to happen as I'm making them. I'm thinking some of these pieces would be great to transition to fall. I'm definitely not ready for summer to be over. But, living in Charlotte I need a lot of pieces like these. Because I know with this weather I won't actually be wearing much fall clothing until at least October. And in case you missed them, here are my finds under $50 for June and July!

Stripes and Scallops

Asher by fab'rik top (on sale!) c/o | Very similar scallop shorts | Moda Luxe bag | Charming Charlie earrings c/o | Similar wedges | Prada sunglasses

This is a rare outfit, where I am wearing black in the summer. As we all know, I love my navy. But I have slowly started to wear black a bit more over the last few years during warmer months. You may have remembered I have recently posted an outfit from fab'rik, and this fun top is from their new Asher line. There are also matching shorts available! And not only is this line full of really fun pieces, proceeds from this line benefit the non-profit Project 82 Kenya. These donations provide basic needs, medical care, and financial support for ill and abandoned children in Kenya. Each fab'rik store has been paired with a child to support until they go home to their new families. For 2017 they are supporting 43 babies, so shop to support the cause!

My Workwear Staples

As I mentioned in last Monday's post, I have been working for a full year. So I thought I would share some of my favorite pieces I have been wearing to work over the last year. I probably wear at least one of these pieces every few days during the week!

J. Crew Factory "Winnie" pants
I bought these when the J. Crew retail store made them as "Minnie" pants, but I have both black and navy pairs. They are pretty comfortable, and go with just about any top and shoe combination. I also like to wear the black pair with over-the-knee boots and sweaters in the winter.

J. Crew Factory "Sidewalk" skirt
I have this skirt in navy linen, black wool, a holiday plaid, and a very similar style in black and white gingham, and white with a scallop hem. I just love the cut, and I think it goes with just about any work-appropriate top from statement sleeves to cable knit sweaters.

Lilly Pulitzer "Elsa" top
I have this top in this solid pink color and 2 different prints, they are always made in so many fun prints every season. I think of this as more of a statement top, but they are great to pair with a more simple skirt or pants.

Ralph Lauren button down shirts
I have collected quite a few of these shirts from high school, and most of them are still around! They are always a classic, endless styling pairings, and appropriate for any office.

Sam Edelman "Hazel" and "Tristan" pumps
These two styles of pumps are so versatile, very durable, and the style in the lower height are quite comfortable. I have the old version of the Hazel in black suede, the current version in nude leather, and the old version of the Tristan in gray suede. And my favorite thing about them might be the fact that they are available in a size 5.5!

J. Crew "Gemma" flats
If I ever feel like I need a break from heels, I reach for these flats. I have pairs in both the red leather and gold patent leather, and they are great to wear all day long. For sizing, I think they run a little small. Because I wear a 5.5 and I have only seen these in size 6 (in store and on sale), which is the size I have in both pairs. And they fit if I wear insoles with them.

Striped Off The Shoulder Top

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography

Crown and Ivy top | White denim shorts (from kid's section) | Jack Rogers sandals | Charming Charlie earrings c/o | Ray Ban sunglasses | Similar bag

I have sort of started a collection of off-the-shoulder pieces this summer. Besides this top, I have also recently blogged this romper and this dress! It's also no secret that I love stripes, so I loved this top the second I saw it. It also didn't hurt that Belk was having a buy one get one free sale on tops in the petites section that day! I have also worn this top with white jeans and wedges. And I also styled the accessories differently by switching out the statement earrings with a long necklace and stud earrings.

Navy Tank

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography

Navy tank c/o Blue Porter Boutique (on sale!) | Druzy earrings c/o Blue Porter Boutique | Old Lilly Pulitzer skirt | Jack Rogers sandals | Similar wicker bag

Yep, I'm wearing navy again. I am loving the back detail on this top from Blue Porter Boutique, it goes with so many of my printed skirts. But I think it would also be great with white denim or printed shorts. I've styled this top with an old favorite Lilly Pulitzer skirt (I think from 2012?) and these druzy earrings also from Blue Porter Boutique. I wore this look for dinner at the beach with my family a few weeks ago, and I think I will wear it somewhere in Charlotte with white jeans and wedges!
