June Finds Under $50

Here is the June installment of Finds Under $50! I clearly have been drawn towards blues and neutrals lately. However, I think my favorite pieces I have picked for this month are both of the floral pieces, this jumpsuit and the one-piece swimsuit. I have been loving the trendy one-piece swimsuits. I haven't owned a one-piece since probably middle school, but I recently found a floral one from Kate Spade for a great deal at TJ Maxx! I'm sure I'll be posting about it here or on Instagram (follow along if you aren't already) soon enough. And in case you missed them, here are the May and April Finds Under $50 posts.

Lilly Pulitzer Favorites for National Wear Your Lilly Day

Happy First Day of Summer, aka National Wear Your Lilly Day!

I think I have done a post for this Lilly Pulitzer holiday every year since I started my blog. This year, I thought I would do something a little different and just share of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer styles that are always available in different prints every year. I have plenty of other styles and other past posts to share, but I don't want to overwhelm you!
Lilly has been one of my favorite brands for about 7 years now. I obviously have always loved all of the bright colors and fun styles. But I just love how I can always depend on these styles to come back year after year. I also have some great memories while wearing Lilly pieces from graduations, to summer vacations, even to staring at my computer refreshing the screen every few seconds with my Mom shopping the infamous online sales! Anyway, on to my favorite styles...

Black and White Stripe Dress

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography

J. Crew Factory striped dress | Charming Charlie earrings c/o | Sam Edelman pumps | Similar bag | Prada sunglasses

My favorite work outfits typically involve dresses, especially if they are versatile and comfy like this one.  I wore this whole look right from the office to taking photos a few weeks ago, and I think it would also be great to wear with flats and layer with a jacket. I am also debating getting this dress hemmed a little, it seemed just slightly too long when I was trying it on. But seeing the photos I like how the length looks, maybe the heels helped? I was shopping in-store and it was on major sale. However, if you are also short and are shopping online, there is a petite size available!

Lauren James Timeless Planner

*This post has been compensated by Lauren James, all opinions are my own*

I didn't think I would use a planner all that much after I graduated from college. But a year and a half later, I actually use one way more than I did during school! Between my work schedule, exercise classes, social activities, and blogging, I write a lot of stuff down. So, I was very excited when Lauren James (remember when I wore one of their classic seersucker dresses last year?) asked me to review their Timeless Planner!

It is called the "Timeless" planner because it does not matter which month you start using it. You can buy one in any month during the year, and it still lasts a full year. The dates are blank, and you fill them in as you go. I am starting this one in June 2017, so I will be using it through the end of May 2018.  I typically buy 18 month planners, and end up using only 12 of those months, so I really like this concept!

Each month has a monthly goals section, with a few boxes you can check off after you have reached them for "Career", "Fun", "Family", etc. There is also a notes section at the bottom of the monthly layout pages. Which I think it will be great to use to reference something that I couldn't fit in the smaller boxes.

And how pretty is this cover?! It is also available in two other prints.

Some other great features that I have never seen in a planner before, are boxes to track your exercise and water intake for each day, and a meal planner for the week. I have mentioned before that I use ClassPass for my workouts, and I always write my class schedule to see how many I have left to take for the month.
As for the meal planning, I tend to cook the same 3 or 4 things in rotation...I think it's a great idea, but I don't think I will be using it much myself. Although, I have been trying to drink more water, especially while I'm at work. I have tried to use a water tracker app, but was not very successful. So I think having it on paper might be just what I need to keep up with it!

At the end of each month there is also a notes section and a page with cute little saying like this one! There are also several sticker pages in the back that you can place on dates for things like vacation, mani/pedis, appointments, gameday, birthdays, and (my personal favorite) sales!

And at the beginning of the planner there are some useful pages like a password keeper, a list of holidays, and a gift list. So, the Timeless Planner has pretty much everything you would ever need!

Thanks for reading and happy planning!

Gingham Skirt

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography

Kate Spade skirt (bought during a Surprise Sale) dress version here, similar skirts here and here | Similar pink top (mine is an old Lilly Pulitzer top c/o ThredUp) | Sam Edelman pumps | Kendra Scott earrings c/o RocksBox | Stella and Dot bag c/o

My gingham obsession has officially made its way into my workwear wardrobe. I have collected the similar J. Crew/J. Crew Factory version of this skirt in 3 colors/prints over the last few years. So, when I saw this gingham one in the latest Kate Spade surprise flash sale, I needed to get it. I like that the bow tie makes a little different from the ones I already have, and it has pockets. And that instantly makes just about any skirt or dress even better!

Red Stripe Dress

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography
I have said it before and I'll say it again, if given the choice between a loose dress like this one or a t-shirt with shorts or leggings, I will always pick the dress. I find it so much comfortable, and it has the added bonus of looking more put together. I have had this dress for a few weeks and I have already worn it for church, running errands, by the pool in Colorado (it was too cold for swimwear), and hanging out around Charlotte. I think it will also be great for a 4th of July outfit, although if you also live in the south, the long sleeves may be a little much if you're spending time outside. But I think I will also be wearing it into the fall with ankle boots and a jacket!
