I've teamed up with Amy of Pastel N Pink blog to share this fun duo Halloween costume idea! If you don't get it, it's the rap song Bad and Boujee. Yes, we know we spelled the sign wrong...anyway it's my favorite song for pushups and plank in barre classes. So when Amy had the idea, I was so excited to help with this post! If you read Friday's post, this is another costume idea that can easily come out of your own closet, maybe borrowing a few pieces from friends. I borrowed the top and jacket from Amy, but I already had the rest of it. Which was kind of surprising because it's such a different look for me, but isn't that what Halloween is all about anyway? And don't forget to check out Amy's blog! She's pretty much my style twin, it's kind of embarrassing how many times we have showed up for events together wearing very similar outfits!

Also about half of this shoot was spent laughing at the fact that we couldn't smile. And the several cars driving by that honked at us when they read the signs...

5 Easy Halloween Costume Ideas (with items already in your closet)

Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but I have a few fun posts planned for it this year! Ever since I was too old to trick-or-treat, I didn't care much about it again until college. Halloween typically fell in the middle of the week during my college years. Which required having costumes for the weekend before, and Halloween night a few days later. I never wanted to spend any money on costumes, and I usually went more for the cute or silly costumes. So most of mine were from my own closet, or borrowing clothes from friends. So here are a few ideas where you may only have to buy 1 or 2 pieces, that you can most likely wear again after Halloween. And the rest may already be in your closet!

Snow White

Yellow skirt | Blue collared top | Red bow | Flats

Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz

Gingham dress | Red flats | Ruffle socks | Basket bag

Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City

Tulle skirt | Tank top | Strappy heels

Boo from Monster's Inc.

Pink tee | Purple leggings | White sneakers

Twin Emoji

Bodysuit | Black bunny ears | Shoes

Make sure to check back on the blog Monday for another easy costume idea, collaborating with one of my fellow Charlotte bloggers!

Pantone Fall Colors for 2017: Navy Peony and Neutral Gray

Navy Peony
Bow-front coat | Camera bag | Tassel earrings | Square sunglasses | Striped bow top

Neutral Gray
Skinny jeans | Ankle booties | Fringe scarf | Statement necklace | Bow sweater

It's time for another two colors from Pantone's colors for Fall 2017. I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone that I am a big fan of the colors in this set! Navy has always been one of my favorite colors, and gray is my favorite neutral. I tend to wear mostly navy, shades of gray, burgundy and red in a lot of my fall and winter clothing. I actually had some trouble narrowing down items to include in this post...I think I will definitely end up adding the striped bow top and tassel earrings to my closet. And in case you missed them, here are the first four colors: Grenadine and Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper and Butterum.

Monogrammed Field Jacket

I've always loved a good field jacket for fall, they were go-to during the first few weeks of classes in college. This navy monogrammed one from MarleyLilly will be perfect for casual looks this season. I styled it a little more simply for this post, but I also plan on wearing it with t-shirt dresses and skirts. And with Charlotte's warm weather, I will most likely be wearing it through the winter as well!

Pantone Fall Colors for 2017: Ballet Slipper and Butterum

Butterum
Faux suede dress | Watch | Tassel loafers | Satchel Bag | Coat

Ballet Slipper
 Sunglasses | Heels | Statement Earrings | Crossbody Bag | Tie-neck Top

I'm breaking down another 2 colors from Pantone's Colors for Fall 2017! As a former ballet dancer, I am a little partial to the Ballet Slipper color. I have worn similar colors of tights and shoes for many years of my life. Although I have to say, real ballet slippers and pointe shoes are much more of a beigey-peach color. And as a pale person with brown hair, I'm not a big fan of the Butterum color. I just don't find it very flattering in clothing on me. However, I think it's one of the most versatile colors for bags! And in case you missed them, check out the first two Pantone colors, Grenadine and Tawny Port!

October Finds Under $50

Plaid skirt ($45) | Pearl bracelet ($35) | Statement necklace ($17) |  Bow mules ($25) | Polka dot shirt ($23) | Statement earrings ($35) | Floral shirt ($25)

It's time for the October edition of Finds Under $50! As I was putting this together, I have seen quite a few fall florals trending like this top, which I am all about. I have also loved seeing some brighter colors like in these pink bow mule flats and these cobalt statement earrings. But if you prefer a neutral, they are also available in black. And I also think this plaid skirt would be so cute for work! In case you missed them, here are my finds under $50 for August and September.

Striped Monogrammed Tunic

I think we all know that I love both stripes and monograms. So, of course I needed this tunic top that puts the two together! I have mentioned (more than) a few times that I am not a big fan of fall. But I have always really liked wearing the color red. And I always wear a lot more of it in the fall and winter. So that is one thing I do look forward to, and this outfit is the beginning of that for this year! I also just added this pair of gray of booties to my closet. The heel is a little higher than my other pairs, which I think will be great to dress up some more casual looks.

5 Fall Favorites

As it is starting to cool down in Charlotte, I thought I would share my top 5 clothing items for fall. I probably wear at least 1 of these items in any typical outfit from October to December. These are all from last year or years prior, but there are lots of very similar options that are currently available!

1. Puffer vests
Living in North Carolina, I don't bring my full coats out until at least November. These vests are great for when it's just a little too cold to not wear a jacket. And the fun printed ones can add so much to an outfit!

2. Trench coat
This is also a favorite for early spring, I found my favorite one from Asos about 2 years ago. It has always been to my go-to for work on chilly mornings.

3. Ankle booties
I wear these for just about every casual occasion in the fall, and most of the winter as well. And as a size 5.5, Sole Society is my favorite place to shop for them!

4. Over-the-knee boots
I think a pair of flat black OTK boots go with just about anything for fall and winter. And I also love to have a heeled pair in navy like these!

5. Dark-wash denim
These are also a favorite for winter and spring as well. My favorite pairs that I have had for a few years are from J Brand and J. Crew.
