2016 In Review

As 2016 is coming to a close, I think it's time for a post where I actually do a little bit of writing. This has been an interesting year for me. This time last year I was a few weeks out of college, working part-time, submitting job applications everyday, living in my parent's house again, and not really sure of where my life was going. A year later, I have been working a full-time corporate job for about 5 months, have my own apartment in a new city, and have just been trying to learn how to be an adult.

I also became really committed to my blog this year. I tried to post 3-4 times per week early in the year, but I clearly haven't been able to keep up with that pace since my work hours have doubled. I have a new appreciation and admiration for the bloggers that have managed to build some amazing brands for themselves while also working full-time. I hope to one day get back to my old posting schedule, but it just hasn't been very realistic for me lately. I would rather post less often and of higher quality than just throw posts out there just to fit a certain number of posts per week.

So that is pretty much a summary of my 2016, and here is my favorite outfit post from each month of the year. Out of almost 4 years of Caralina Style, these are definitely my favorites so far!

Here's to 2017, Thanks for reading!

Sequin Outfit Ideas for New Year's Eve

Sequin leggings | Sequin slip dress | Cold shoulder sequin top | Red sequin dress | Boatneck sequin top | Peplum sequin top | Pink sequin top | Sequin romper | Sequin ribbon back top | Sequin jacket |  Bronze sequin top

It seems a little early to be talking about New Year's Eve, since Christmas isn't even here yet. But, I have already found myself trying to plan an outfit. I personally always go for some sequins, so I have put together some of my favorite sequin pieces to ring in 2017! I have been talking about how much I love sequin pants for a few years now, I think this might be the year I finally break down and buy a pair...we will see! I will most likely have a full outfit post of whatever I end up wearing on the blog.

Windowpane Check and Pleats

Similar dress here and here (mine is from Loft) | Similar top (mine is c/o Romwe) | Sam Edelman pumps | Stella and Dot bag c/o | Prada sunglasses (rented) c/o Ditto (use code "CARALINASTYLE" for your month free) | Giorgio Armani lip color c/o Influenster

Sharing yet another holiday look today! And like most of my outfits from the last few months, I have worn this one to work. I found this dress on Black Friday for just $30 and I am obsessed with it. I have also worn it without tights and with over the knee boots. I'm sure I'll be wearing it without the layers again when it is warmer outside!

Christmas Apartment Decor

Wearing: Mint Julep Boutique slouchy tee c/o

I have always loved decorating for Christmas, and it's really fun having my own space to decorate this year! I just got a little white pencil tree (from Michael's), found the perfect sized tree skirt (from Target), put some tinsel with lights around my TV stand that I used to decorate with in college, and set out my little nativity scene I used to have in my room at home.
I don't really have the space for much else, although I wish I maybe had a few decorations for my bar cart. I'll probably add those next year. I just love coming home from work and plugging in the lights, it adds a lot to my little space. I was also home with my family when they got their real Christmas tree last weekend, so I got to decorate two trees this year!

Another Pleated Skirt

I don't think I even need to say I love pleated skirts. This is the third one I've posted within the last few months (here and here), plus this pleated top, and there may or may not be a pleated dress coming next week...Apparently I know what I like and I buy it in every option available. Anyway, this one is super fun to wear with the long length. I bought it back in October, but they have some really nice options in this style for the holidays like these silver glitter, coloblock velvet, and metallic gold hem skirts!
