Layered Tweed Dress

Surprise surprise, it still doesn't really feel like fall here. So adding some light turtlenecks have been a great option for me lately. I got this tweed dress during Gal Meets Glam's final sale last spring and am excited to finally be styling it. I paired it with my forever favorite heels (from 2013...), a "new to me" vintage bag, and some earrings that will soon be available on my Etsy shop. I have quite a few new styles to add, and will have more details in a future post. And over on Instagram, I teamed up with fellow Cara @always_cara with another styling option for a similar tweed dress!

Denim Jacket

I don't think I've owned a denim jacket since 5th grade, so I felt the need to document it. We have had some days that feel like fall here, but a lot of days still in the high 70s or low 80s. Which I'm not complaining about (I'm all about summer), but this is about the extent of "fall"clothes I've been wearing. I also got this jacket price matched in store! I went to the J. Crew store to find it marked down to $45, but it was marked down even further to $30 online. I typically see lower prices in the store, so I thought I would ask if they would match it. They agreed, and I was able to save $15. I think I will this will be a great piece for fall and spring!

Halloween Costume Idea: Emily in Paris

The best kind of Halloween costumes are ones that are already in your closet. I watched Emily in Paris on Netflix last week, and loved all of the outfits! If you haven't seen the show yet, scrolling through their Instagram account can give an idea of the style. I would describe it as lots of fun prints, bright colors, some French cliches like berets and scarves, a lot of ankle booties, and an unrealistic amount of designer bags. Every character in the show is very well dressed, although there are definitely more unique details in Emily's outfits.
So to create an outfit similar to this one I pulled out a few favorites like my trusty green coat I've had since college (still going strong from 2013), some tweed, a silk scarf, a vintage bag, and I found a beret from Target. I've linked a few items below that I think are similar to the outfit I was trying to recreate, and some other outfits Emily wears on the show (like this gingham set, this pink coat, and this green leather jacket look)!

Fitness Friday 27

It's that time again...another round of Fitness Friday! I was really hoping to add an extra workout per week this month, but my hip (if you're new: you can read all about that here) has been flaring up quite a bit lately. So I will probably start filling that place with the PT exercises I was doing last year to strengthen the muscles all around my hip labrum. But the weather has been ideal for outdoor workouts lately! As always, my full workout schedule for the last month is below. And in case you missed them, here are my posts from September and August.

Food
  1. A recent breakfast favorite has been chocolate rice cakes with peanut butter.
  2. And a recent snack favorite has been pumpkin seeds, they're always a good option to keep in my work bag and surprisingly have a lot of protein.
  3. I haven't really tried any new dinner recipes lately, I've been kinda lazy and making a lot of frozen Trader Joe's meals. But I think it's because I've been going to more outdoor workouts and getting back later when compared to my quarantine routine.
