Stepping out of my comfort zone a little with these orange pants! They are really comfy, and a great length for my short legs. The material is light and has a linen feel, so they may be more suited for summer. But I thought the burnt orange color and the fact that it is still warm outside, makes them work for fall as well! I paired it with an old favorite velvet cami and super versatile silk scarf. I think it will also be fun to pair them with a thick sweater and ankle boots as it gets colder!

Fall Travel Outfits

Trench c/o | Sweater c/o | Scarf | Jeans | Booties | Sunglasses

This fall has been a very busy one. I have been away every weekend since Labor Day! So I thought I would share all of the outfits I have brought along with me. Sure, most of them aren't really fall clothes. But it is still in the 70s in Charlotte, so it's all real! It has been a little crazy, but a really fun time. I didn't use up much of my work vacation time during the spring and summer, so I took a few Fridays and half days off in September and October.  So here they are, partially in order. This also might be the most TJ has been featured in a post! Not pictured: trips to Raleigh, NC and Clemson, SC for football games, and Atlanta for a weekend with TJ's family in September.

I went to Panama City Beach, FL to visit my friend and former coworker in early September. It was a quick trip, I wish I could stayed longer. But we enjoyed some gorgeous weather and the best time catching up!

I went home to Greensboro, NC for a high school friend's wedding in September. I was so excited to find this Lilly Pulitzer dress in the After Party Sale for under $60, it sold full price for over $200! I got a lot of compliments on it at the wedding, and I already can't wait to bring it back out next spring.

TJ and I took a long weekend trip to Hilton Head Island, SC at the end of September. The weather was perfect, and we had the most fun biking all over the island! I have been to quite a few Carolina beaches before, but that was my first time at Hilton Head. I definitely plan on going back, it seemed to be the beach town that has everything!

We headed up to Baltimore the first weekend in October for a wedding of TJ's college friends. The reception venue had this beautiful patio on the water, so we had to take a photo break! You might remember this look from this post back in the spring, so here it is in action!

Just last weekend, we explored Boston before TJ started his work trip there this week. I think I'll be doing a separate post on all we did in Boston. In summary, enjoyed a lot of great food and some fun sights. But it was definitely fall there! It wasn't quite too cold for walking around, but I'm definitely glad I brought my trenches and boots.

I've been meaning to bring back more of my "real" outfits, so I thought this might be a good place to start! Let me know if you want to see more of my workwear, activewear, etc.

Black and White Elsa Top

Yes, I got another Elsa top! I am such a fan of this style Lilly Pulitzer makes in several different colors and prints, season after season after season. Just in the last few years I have styled my solid lavender, solid pink, and sailboat printed tops of the same style on the blog. Lilly is always known for their bright colors and prints, but they do occasionally make some black and white prints. I'm supposed to wear black and white to work, so I have been not so patiently waiting since last fall for this top to go on sale. I had a few very specific pieces in mind during the last After Party Sale, and I was so excited to finally get this silk top! I have already worn it to work with a black skirt and flats when it was warmer, and I plan on wearing like in these photos now that we are seeing some cooler temperatures.

DIY Halloween Costume Idea: Champagne and RosÉ Bottles

Halloween is just a few weeks away, so its about time for some costume ideas! I'm back at it with the queen of DIY Halloween Costumes, Amy of The Daily Amy! If you've read here awhile, you might remember we also posted a Bad and Boujee duo costume 2 years ago.  So this year, Amy got the idea to team up again, and dress as rosé and champagne bottles. Although we think it is a great duo costume, it could just as easily be done alone as well!

I think I've made it pretty clear through my previous content how rosé is my wine of choice, and this was so much fun to photograph! Amy broke down everything you will need to make these fun costumes from materials, to how she put the glitter "cork" headbands together in her post, here! Be sure to follow Amy for more colorful style, glimpses into her life in Charlotte, and a little bit of Disney!

Lavender Pleated Dress

Pleated surplice dress c/o (use code "Q4Caralina15" for 15% off!) | Similar earrings | J. Crew "Academy" loafer mules | Gigi New York "Madison" bag | Similar sunglasses

It is just starting to feel like fall in Charlotte. By that I mean, temps below 80 degrees. So I'm still not quite ready for sweaters or jackets, and have been living in long sleeve dresses. I love the shade of lavender in this dress, and I have always been a fan of any pleated skirt! Although for my fellow petite friends, the snap on the top was a little too low for my liking, and I have it pinned up a few inches higher. I've styled it with these loafer mules I found on major sale at the end of last winter. They have been a great shoe to dress up for work or down for the weather that I think is in between wearing sandals and boots!

Red Eyelet Top

This eyelet top is a little different for me, but I've been drawn to just about anything red lately! I've styled it more casually for these photos, but I've also been wearing it to work with black pants and gold loafers. I'm also so excited about these booties I found on major sale last spring from Madewell. They didn't bring back the exact style this year but this Carina style is very similar! I'm also still obsessed with their jeans. I got this pair towards the end of last winter and I know they will be a favorite throughout this fall1
