Fitness Friday XII

*original post

Welcome to the 1st Fitness Friday of 2019!! I started this series of February 2018, where I share my workouts over the last month, some healthy habits I'm trying to create, and some fun activewear picks. There were quite a few opportunities for free workouts in Charlotte this month, and I started my year with a few more classes than a typical month. Some of the free opportunities was the first week trial at F45 Functional Training, which just opened in Midtown. It is a beautiful space with great trainers (one of which I have now followed to 3 different studios), and I really like how their workouts are set up! And in case you missed them, I recapped the end of 2018 with Fitness Friday in November and December.

It looks like I ended up with 24 workouts to start off 2019! I became a regular at my friend Sophie's Ballet Fit Theory class, tried a few classes with my free week at F45, and went to a few SweatNET events! If you're local to Charlotte, a very low membership fee gives you access to discounts to so many area studios and some great free SweatNET events!

Food

  1. I have been looking for an alternative to some of the sugary protein bars I have been eating lately, and found a recipe for these chocolate protein bites. I have made them twice already, and plan on making them a lot more!
  2. Speaking of avoiding sugar, I have agreed to a Sugar Free February with fellow SweatNET ambassador, Kara of MisFIT Dance! Her goals are a little more defined than mine, I am just trying to avoid sweets and foods with added sugar. But I will be posting more about that as February goes on!
  3. I am also very excited to be working with a nutritionist for a few months! I will have much more to post about that later. Probably a few full blog posts worth! But so far, I have just started to track my macros for her to look at and put a plan together.
