Colorblock Sweater

Brandy Melville sweater from Nordstrom | J Brand "Maria" jeans | Similar flats | Tucker Blair hat c/o | Similar Kate Spade bag | Monogram necklace

A little bit of a patriotic look for today's post, I just love pairing red with navy! I was living in this light sweater before the temperatures started to feel like fall in Charlotte. I've paired it with denim shorts, a navy skirt, white denim, and of course with regular denim like in this post. I am also wearing some old favorites like these J. Crew flats that are no longer available, but this pair is super similar, and very affordable! I also accessorized with my classic monogram necklace that I have had since my freshman year of college, and my favorite skinny jeans that I have had for almost 3 years now. I think this outfit is a typical example of what I would wear to work on some blog posts at a coffee shop or go shopping.

Pantone Fall Colors for 2017: Shaded Spruce and Golden Lime

 Shaded Spruce
Silk dress | Crossbody bag | Tassel earrings | Ruffle skirt | Velvet top

Golden Lime
Chino pants | Aviators | Velvet loafers | Crossbody bag | Puffer vest

We have 2 shades of green for this week's Pantone colors for fall! I have always really liked to wear both of these shades, but I feel like I can never find anything in these colors that work for me. Which is why I have had fun putting this post together! I especially love the tassel earrings and velvet loafers. And in case you missed them, here are my previous posts in this series: Grenadine and Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper and Butterum, Navy Peony and Neutral Gray.

Brown Floral Top

Asher by Fab'rik top c/o | J Brand "Maria" Jeans | Steve Madden "Gabbie" OTK boots | Prada Sunglasses | Similar bag

I'm a big fan of tops that have a tie neckline and gathered sleeves, and this one from the Asher Collection by Fab'rik is no exception! I think tops like this are a great option for this transition time after the summer tops have been put away, but it's still too warm to wear sweaters. And that time lasts a long time in Charlotte, so it's great to have plenty of options. I have paired this top with my favorite pair of skinny jeans and my new OTK boots that I found during the Nordstrom sale! I haven't been able to wear them much yet, but I think I'll be living in them this fall and winter.

Halloween Costume Idea: Bad and Boujee

Faux leather jeans (found at Marshall's) | Similar jacket | Similar top | Similar booties | Sunglasses

Boujee
Black dress | Choker | Nude pumps | Similar jacketSimilar sunglasses

I've teamed up with Amy of Pastel N Pink blog to share this fun duo Halloween costume idea! If you don't get it, it's the rap song Bad and Boujee. Yes, we know we spelled the sign wrong...anyway it's my favorite song for pushups and plank in barre classes. So when Amy had the idea, I was so excited to help with this post! If you read Friday's post, this is another costume idea that can easily come out of your own closet, maybe borrowing a few pieces from friends. I borrowed the top and jacket from Amy, but I already had the rest of it. Which was kind of surprising because it's such a different look for me, but isn't that what Halloween is all about anyway? And don't forget to check out Amy's blog! She's pretty much my style twin, it's kind of embarrassing how many times we have showed up for events together wearing very similar outfits!

Also about half of this shoot was spent laughing at the fact that we couldn't smile. And the several cars driving by that honked at us when they read the signs...

5 Easy Halloween Costume Ideas (with items already in your closet)

Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but I have a few fun posts planned for it this year! Ever since I was too old to trick-or-treat, I didn't care much about it again until college. Halloween typically fell in the middle of the week during my college years. Which required having costumes for the weekend before, and Halloween night a few days later. I never wanted to spend any money on costumes, and I usually went more for the cute or silly costumes. So most of mine were from my own closet, or borrowing clothes from friends. So here are a few ideas where you may only have to buy 1 or 2 pieces, that you can most likely wear again after Halloween. And the rest may already be in your closet!

Snow White

Yellow skirt | Blue collared top | Red bow | Flats

Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz

Gingham dress | Red flats | Ruffle socks | Basket bag

Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City

Tulle skirt | Tank top | Strappy heels

Boo from Monster's Inc.

Pink tee | Purple leggings | White sneakers

Twin Emoji

Bodysuit | Black bunny ears | Shoes

Make sure to check back on the blog Monday for another easy costume idea, collaborating with one of my fellow Charlotte bloggers!

Pantone Fall Colors for 2017: Navy Peony and Neutral Gray

Navy Peony
Bow-front coat | Camera bag | Tassel earrings | Square sunglasses | Striped bow top

Neutral Gray
Skinny jeans | Ankle booties | Fringe scarf | Statement necklace | Bow sweater

It's time for another two colors from Pantone's colors for Fall 2017. I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone that I am a big fan of the colors in this set! Navy has always been one of my favorite colors, and gray is my favorite neutral. I tend to wear mostly navy, shades of gray, burgundy and red in a lot of my fall and winter clothing. I actually had some trouble narrowing down items to include in this post...I think I will definitely end up adding the striped bow top and tassel earrings to my closet. And in case you missed them, here are the first four colors: Grenadine and Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper and Butterum.

Monogrammed Field Jacket

MarleyLilly field jacket c/o | Very similar shirt | AG jeans | Similar ankle boots | Lauren Ralph Lauren bag c/o | Gorjana necklace c/o Rocksbox

I've always loved a good field jacket for fall, they were go-to during the first few weeks of classes in college. This navy monogrammed one from MarleyLilly will be perfect for casual looks this season. I styled it a little more simply for this post, but I also plan on wearing it with t-shirt dresses and skirts. And with Charlotte's warm weather, I will most likely be wearing it through the winter as well!
