Bell Sleeve Silk Top

I have a small collection of printed silk tops, but I love that the bell sleeves on this one makes it different from the rest! You may remember from this year's After Party Sale post that I scored this top for a great deal. I have worn the way I have it styled here to go see a Charlotte Ballet performance recently. I have also worn it to work with a navy skirt and flats, and I plan on wearing it with white jeans and maybe white skirts in warmer weather. There is a lot of versatility in these kinds of tops, which is probably why I tend to buy them so often!

5 Years of Caralina Style

5 years ago yesterday, I decided to start this blog. I'm not one for sappy posts about how much blogging means to me, but I am really happy I have stuck with it for this long. It started out as just a fun way to share my style. It has turned into the best hobby/side hustle, providing: a way to express myself, a way to work with brands I have always admired (and discover new ones!), a way to learn a lot about business that I never would have learned in school, a way to connect with a lot of like-minded women, and a way to make some extra income. To celebrate 5 years, I have decided to break down how the blog has evolved with a little timeline.

2013
In 2013, I was figuring out how to do this whole blogging thing. I did not really understand how it all worked, and I maybe posted a few times per month. The blogging world is very different today than it was during my freshman year of college!

2014
In 2014, I still wasn't posting very regularly. But I started working with a few brands and posting more outfits when I could! I had a busy college schedule (typically 6 classes, dance rehearsals, and an internship), so I usually only had the chance to take photos during breaks from school.

2015
It wasn't until 2015 that I started taking blogging a little more seriously, and treating it like a business. I started planning out my content in advance, posting a set amount of times per week, using social media for business purposes, learned how I could generate income, and expanded my knowledge of programs like Photoshop.

2016
In 2016, I had just graduated from college and was only working part-time. So, I had a lot of time to devote to the blog. This was when I really started regularly posting, worked with more brands, and even attended a blogging conference!

2017
In 2017, I had been working full-time for a few months. So, I adjusted to balancing my job and the blog. And I also started working with a professional photographer!

2018 (so far)
We are still very early into 2018. But, this year I hope to just continue what I have been doing. I also hope to start posting more fitness content, and maybe some Charlotte-specific content as well!

If you are new here, or have been reading from the beginning...thank you so much for supporting Caralina Style!

As always, thanks for reading!

Crossback Stripe Tee

Photos by Deeana Kourtney Photography

J. Crew stripe crossback tee | J Brand "Maria" jeans | Navy OTK boots | Baublebar for Target earrings c/o | Gigi New York bag | Stella and Dot "Parker" sunglasses c/o | Similar coat

We have had some lovely weather in Charlotte lately, but that doesn't mean my coats and boots have been put away for winter just yet! I found these navy OTK boots for around $30 last year, they aren't very comfortable, but I think they can add a lot to an outfit. I also am loving this monogrammed Gigi New York bag I got for my birthday this year, it is such a classic style and color. And even though the last thing my closet needed was another striped shirt, I couldn't resist this navy crossback version. The back makes it so different from my other striped shirts. I feel like it also dresses it up a little, I have even worn it to work with  navy pants and nude heels.

February Finds Under $50

Stripe peplum tee | Fringe bracelet ($26) | Tortoise sunglasses | Bow strap heels ($38) | Green dress | Navy earrings ($15) | Wicker bag | Floral pants ($30)

It's time for some spring transition items for this month's Finds Under $50! I think I need this green dress and these floral pants for work. I also need to replace my pair of heeled sandals from a few years ago, and this pair might be a good replacement! I also had to include something navy with these statement earrings. And in case you missed it, here is January's Finds Under $50.
