Gallery Wall: On a College Budget

For my apartment this year, I somewhat of a gallery wall, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. Ideally I would buy prints from Amanda Catherine Designs, Stephanie Sterjovski, Design Darling, etc. frame them all, maybe add a wooden monogram, and a tassel garland. Instead I've made some of my own prints, and used some freebies from History in High Heels, (she also has ones available for purchase on her Etsy shop!) and iPhone wallpapers from College Prepster! I just put them into a program called GIMP, and made them 8x10 format. I used the same program to make the prints I made myself. I also used the flag banner I made from my Lilly Pulitzer agenda pages I talked about in, this recent post. I used Washi tape that I got from Michael's to "frame" the prints as well! So I already had in my house the paper I used for the banner, and the ribbon I strung them together with. I bought card stock for the prints, printed them with my printer at home, and bought 3 rolls of Washi tape, totaling about $15! Here is how it turned out :)
Confession: this is probably one of few times I will make this bed

  1. How creative! I agree that it can be difficult to spend a lot of money on artwork. I really admire what you did, and I'm sure everyone will be jealous of your room :)
