Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale: September 2018 Shopping Tips and Favorite Pieces I Look To Buy

Now that we are past Labor Day people are saying "summer is over", but I'm not listening! Mostly because the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale starts this weekend! The full sale is September 8th-September 12th. A fairly recent addition, there are now preview sale days in stores, in addition to the three days online! So on September 8th-9th the sale is only in-store. September 10th-12th, the sale is both in the stores and online. The Lilly Pulitzer online store does not have a sale section year round, so they host two online sales every year. The stores have a small sale section, but these prices are much better than you would normally find there. They are also changing up the dates this year, pushing it to September instead of the usual last week of August. This sale is both online and in Lilly Pulitzer corporate stores. The sale now has two preview days and last for 3 days online, but the best items are typically sold out within the first few hours! Although, they typically add items to the site as the sale continues.
These sales are how I have purchased a majority of my Lilly items. Most of the items currently listed on their website (including agendas) will not be included in the sale. They pull styles and prints from the last year or so for these sales. But because Lilly does a lot of the same styles in different prints and colors each season, it's a great way to find some of your favorite pieces in past prints for great prices.

Styles I'll be looking for in this sale:
Versatile printed dresses (similar to this one I found last year) like the Brynlee dress, casual dresses like the Essie and the Sophie, Luxletic leggingsMila shift dresses, and silk tops like the Elsa!

If you do not have a store nearby or do not want to wait in the lines, here are some of my tips from shopping the sales next week. The Sale FAQ page from Lilly answers most of your typical questions you may have about the sale. But here are a few things I would add to it:

1. Create an account if you do not have one already, and make sure you are signed in the night before. It is also good to have your shipping addresses and payment information saved, to save time while all of your favorite items are going so quickly! If you shop on multiple devices (which I recommend), make sure you are signed in on each one, including the mobile app.

2. Know your sizes, all items are final sale. If you haven't bought anything from Lilly over the last few years, I have noticed some of the sizing is not as consistent as it used to be.

3. There are always disclaimers to expect delays for shipping and processing. But from my experience, I usually have my items within a week or so.

4. You will be placed in a virtual line to enter the sale. It used to be a good practice to place multiple orders to keep things from getting pulled out of your cart, because the shipping is always free. However, this is no longer a good idea. Because you will be placed back in line after your first order has been submitted.
And I have learned that using multiple devices is really helpful for the line. It also makes the line seem much longer than it really is, if most people in line are on 2 or more devices. But, I have always found that one device gets far ahead of the others. The website sometimes crashes due to the traffic, but it what it is!

5. From the last few sales, some of the items were not marked down as much as they have been in the past. Over the years, I have noticed the best deals are on casual dresses, small accessories, tops, and sometimes scarves!
