Smart Shopping Tips

Hi  everyone! As a college student who loves to shop, I try to save money in every way I can. Here are some of the ways I do it.
The first way is student discounts

although #9 does not apply any more (R.I.P. Rubgy RL) the J. Crew one is really awesome because if you stay in the already 30% off sale section, with the discount its 45% off. Also always be on the look out for sales at your favorite stores. Such as the twice a year Lilly Pulitzer sales, you have to be quick but the deals are incredible! The tumblr account prepfection does a weekly shopping roundup listing sales online and in store

Another thing I really love is Marshall's and TJ Maxx.
I don't always find the best clothes brands here, the juniors sections aren't always the best. But I've found some amazing bags, jewelry, shoes, perfume, and nail polish of my favorite brands for great deals

I can't forget, outlet shopping! I know outlets are usually out of the way but lots of great brands have outlet stores like J. Crew, Vineyard Vines, Ralph Lauren, Saks 5th Ave, Michael Kors, Lacoste, and BCBG. If you get on their mailing list they send you e-mails and coupons with certain percentages off all the time

For amazing designer deals online, these websites are the best
Bluefly is like any other online store but Rue La La, HauteLook and Ideeli all have events and sell certain items for only a few days or even hours. They all have the best brands and tend to still be a little pricey but they have so much from Lilly Pulitzer, Sperry Top Sider, Jack Rogers, Vineyard Vines, BCBG, Juicy Couture, and just about every jean brand like 7 For All Mankind, J Brand, Hudson on major sale.

Another way to save money is know what you are paying for. Here are some examples of how you can get the something that looks the exact same for a lot less from brands you already know, without sacrificing the quality
