2019 in Review

January
I celebrated my 25th birthday in January. I also spent a lot of time in workout classes, over 20 of them! And this dress was my favorite outfit post. This was also a big blog moment as I got to work with Gal Meets Glam Collection!

February
I celebrated 7 years of blogging in February. I also learned so much about my health when I started working with a nutrition coach, you can read all about that here. I think I'll have a 1 year update post on that this February to share how I have kept up with it soon. And this sweater was my favorite outfit post.

March
March began a long break from exercise when I tore the labrum in my hip. If you missed it, you can read all about that here. It was a long process, but I definitely learned a lot from it and a lot about injury prevention in the future. And this skirt was my favorite outfit post.

April
There wasn't anything too exciting in April, but we had a beautiful spring in Charlotte! I spent a lot of time outside at various events around town, and this dress was my favorite outfit post.

May
May was pretty much a continuation of April, not anything too important to note. But as I was adjusting to not being able to work out with my injury, I had some extra social time grabbing dinner with friends on weeknights. And this dress was my favorite outfit post, which is probably one of my top 3 favorites for the year!

June
June started a fun, but pretty lowkey summer. The only traveling I did that month was going to Virginia to visit blogging friend Annaliese, and saw some of Richmond and Charlottesville. And this romper was my favorite outfit post.

July
July was overall a pretty chill month. I spent 4th of July with my family, and we went to Lake Keowee in South Carolina for a vacation later in the month. There honestly really isn't much else to note about it, and this dress was my favorite outfit post.

August
My favorite thing about August was that I was able to work my way back into my workout routine after my hip injury! It was also a very social month as TJ and several of our friends had birthdays. So it felt like either there was a party or a gathering at one of many breweries in town every weekend. This jumpsuit was my favorite outfit post, that I wore in my post that marked 3 years living in Charlotte!

September
September began what I called the "marathon of weekend travel" starting with a weekend at NC State for a football game and wedding shower for TJ's college friends. Followed by a quick visit to Florida to see one of my friends from my old company, that went directly into a trip to Atlanta with TJ's family. Then a wedding in my hometown of Greensboro, and a long weekend in Hilton Head Island. We were gone every weekend, and that continued into early November. And this dress was my favorite outfit post.

October
October was a busy one as the travel marathon continued. TJ and I attended 2 weddings: one in the Baltimore area and one about an hour away from Charlotte. I went to Clemson for a football game with my family, and we had the best long weekend in Boston. Just like September, I was not home for a single weekend. It was a little tiring by the end of it all, but so worth it! It is looking like next year is already going to be just as busy as more of our friends are having fall weddings. And this workwear look was my favorite outfit post.

November
In November, I left the job that brought me to Charlotte and started working for another company. I never shared my exact title or the company I worked for while I was there. But I was the Marketing Administrator for a mall developer that owns several malls in Charlotte, and a few hundred around the world. I had the best boss and a great team there, but it was time for me to move on. I learned so much during my time there, but one of the biggest lessons was that I think I prefer working for a company on the smaller side. At least that's how I feel so far, about 6 weeks in to working for a much smaller company, also in a marketing job. We have a very small team, and we all wear jeans to work! So with that being said, if you see a decrease in workwear posts around here, that would be why. Oh, and this dress was my favorite outfit post.

December
December was full of family time and all of the holiday craziness. It  was very nice having most of my weekends in Charlotte again after all of the traveling in the fall. But I did still go to Clemson for my brother's graduation, home for Christmas, and just celebrated New Year's Eve in Raleigh. It went by way too quickly, but it was a great time! And this dress was my favorite outfit post.

As the decade is also coming to a close, it is also worth a little reflection. As with most people in their twenties, this decade was full of milestones. I was a sophomore in high school when 2010 began. So I have since graduated high school, moved 8 hours away from home for college, started this blog as a freshman, graduated from college, moved back to North Carolina and into my own apartment, went from spending all of my spare time in a ballet studio to jumping in to any exercise class I could find, and am on my second full time job. As great as this decade was, I cannot wait to see what the next one has in store!

Thanks for reading, and Happy New Year!
